Panasonic FS30 Compact Digital Camera
The Panasonic Lumix FS30 is a compact digital camera whose features include a 28mm wide-angle lens which is capable of achieving up-to 8x optical zoom. The images can be shot with a resolution of up-to 14.1 megapixels and the addition of the Extra Optical Zoom function allows for an additional zoom of 16.9x but this comes at a cost and the resolution for these shots has a maximum of 3 megapixels.
The Panasonic FS30 has an Intelligent Auto mode, iA; this allows the camera to optimize settings automatically to ensure the photos taken are always of good quality. The system also has incorporated an O.I.S feature, Optical Image Stabilizer, which helps to reduce the effect of shaky hands whilst taking the picture.
With the Panasonic FS30 you are also able to record pictures at a maximum frame rate of 30 fps. The quality of these motion JPEGs is 1280x720 pixels. The camera has a 2.7 inch LCD screen to allow you to see the photos you have taken and to control various functions. The screen will also adjust its brightness depending upon the ambient light in the area.
The camera has an AV output connection and a USB 2.0 connection allowing you to either display your pictures on a compatible TV or quickly connect and download them to your PC. The Lumix FS30 has approximately 40MB of internal memory but this can be upgraded with the addition of an SD memory card.
The Panasonic Lumix FS30 has a plethora of features and at a price starting at around £160, seems a very reasonable purchase. The resolution of the images is high and the addition of iA allows for beginners to be able to take good quality photos.
